Amount already set; this notice is the due date

The CY2027 fee is $190.88, as announced in CBP Decision 26-14, "Customs User Fees To Be Adjusted for Inflation in Fiscal Year 2027" (91 FR 48398, July 31, 2026), under the FAST Act inflation adjustment (Pub. L. 114-94, section 32201, amending COBRA, 19 U.S.C. 58c) and 19 CFR 24.22(k). Authorities for the annual assessment also include 19 CFR 111.96(c), 24.22(h) and (i), and 19 U.S.C. 58c(a)(7). CBP must publish the amount at least 60 days before the due date.

Our earlier Library piece FY27 Customs Broker Permit User Fee covered the $190.88 amount and flagged that the CY27 due date would arrive in a future Federal Register notice. This is that notice.

How to pay

CBP strongly encourages electronic payment via the eCBP portal. First-time users must create a Login.gov account. Guides are at cbp.gov/trade/eCBP. Payments are also accepted at the processing center defined in 19 CFR 111.1, per 19 CFR 24.22(i). Other broker compliance dates in the same season: Broker CE and TSR checklist (20 CE hours by Jan 31, 2027; TSR window through Feb 28, 2027) and CBP Oct 1 broker CE reminder. Those are separate from the permit user fee.

Broker permit status

A revoked national permit is an ops and licensing failure, not a drawback-rate event. Broker permit user fees are a licensing cost, not an entry duty or fee you reclaim through a drawback claim. Keep permit billing and drawback refund estimates in separate buckets.

Action items

  • Calendar January 29, 2027 for every national permit you hold (individual, partnership, association, or corporation).
  • Confirm Login.gov and eCBP access before the holidays so first-time setup does not collide with the deadline.
  • Pay $190.88 per permit and keep the receipt. Nonpayment revokes the national permit by operation of law.
